The Origin Story of Liminal
The spark for Liminal came from breakdown: the kind everyone’s hiding. Founders quietly burning out. Leaders feeling like frauds behind polished brands. Teams stretched thin, running on adrenaline and broken systems. Nervous systems fried. Passion gone. Identity split between “who I am” and “who the business needs me to be.”
Inside traditional consulting, it was even louder: big agencies with bigger promises, short-term patches that treated symptoms instead of cause, “strategy” no one actually believed in, endless pivots with no north star, KPIs stacked on chaos with zero follow-through, execution with no soul, and a pace that stripped people of clarity, purpose, and truth. That’s the world Liminal was built to interrupt.
We came together from opposite threshold moments. Aileen stepping out of the corporate machine. Nicole rebuilding from the inside out. Both watching brilliant people collapse under pressure that had nothing to do with potential and everything to do with the operating system they were running on. The realization was simple: growth problems are only a symptom of deeper disconnection. When the nervous system is shot, the vision distorts. When the leader is misaligned, the business fractures. When the strategy doesn’t match the soul, everything feels forced. Liminal exists for that exact moment: the space between who someone has been and who they’re becoming.
